Family History Irish Tours Page I
For those of us with Irish Ancestry, a trip to the Emerald Island is one of the most thrilling experiences
of a lifetime! The history, the people, the culture and landscape immediately tug at your heart strings,
and once having been there, the dream of returning "home to Ireland " is ever present. If you happen to
be interested in family history, some time must be scheduled for research at the National Library,
the National Archives, Joyce House and even the delightful, though small Marsh Library in Dublin.
The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and Linen Library in Belfast, were equally enticing.
Happily, we found the people, both in the North and in the South, friendly and accommodating; the
landscape beautiful and their history enthralling. You are welcome to join us, if you'd like, for
a brief look back... and dream with us, if you would like of the day when we will surely return.

Trinity College was founded in
1591 by Queen Elizabeth I. We
had the good fortune of viewing
it from our upper dormitory window.

Castle Cashel or the "Rock of
Cashel" was the Castle of the

Tipperary

One of the novelties, for
visitors who travel to
Blarney Castle, is the
tradition of kissing
the Blarney Stone. Every
year, numerous adventurers
climb to the top of the
turret where they hang
upside down outside the
castle wall to accomplish
this feat. For those who
would rather not dangle
by their "feet" it is
considered valid to "kiss
someone who has kissed the
Blarney stone."

In all the world is there a more
beautiful spot or a more beautiful
rose than the ones at Tralee?
