Tour to Denmark page I
During the summer of the year 2000, we boarded a plane and headed for Copenhagen, Denmark. After many
months of preparation, we, and our small group, were ready to discover the land where so many ancestors
had lived and died. All the history books, lectures, pictures, videos, or movies in the world are not
a substitute for walking over the same ground that a grandfather or great-grandmother walked, or to see
the scenery as they might have seen it, but if you would like to whet your appetite for this kind of
adventure you're welcome to take a "ten minute" stroll with us through this beautiful land, just to see a
bit of what might be waiting for you there...should you decide to visit.
I think we've found one
of Wade's ancestors in
the City Building in
Copenhagen! Amazing
resemblance!
This Building, belonging
to the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day
Saints, is being remodeled
and will soon be the first
Temple in Denmark.
The street vendors in the
walking mall in Copenhagen
sold Almonds boiled in
brown sugar. They served
them up in brown paper
bags...hot!
Our rooms at the Cab Inn
were small, but comfortable.
Joleen was smiling... her's
was the bottom bunk.
This was our guide to the
Hans Christian Anderson
"village." She was very
knowledgeable and pleasant.
The Hans Christian Anderson
Village, included the home
where the famous author
of children's literature once
lived... "it was just a ten
minute walk."
